Parents Forever is a comprehensive curriculum that helps parents understand the impact of divorce on their children and the effect that their behavior can have on how well their children cope with the divorce and beyond.

About the curriculum |
Parents Forever is a complete curriculum package containing educator guides, parent handbooks, overhead masters, video, facilitator’s guide, collaboration guide, and evaluation tools. Five topics are covered:
- The Impact of Divorce on Adults
- The Impact of Divorce on Children
- Money Issues and Cost of Raising Children
- Legal Issues and the Role of Mediation
- Pathways to a New Life

Collaboration |
The Parents Forever program uses a collaborative model to deliver the curriculum contents. A successful Parents Forever program will enlist a variety of individuals and agencies in the support and implementation of this program. Educators, mental health providers, social workers, attorneys, judges, court administrators, victims’ advocates, clergy, law enforcement officials, all have something to contribute. |
| Guidelines for Parents Forever collaboratives |
Facilitation |
The Facilitator’s Guide provides information that will help you make decisions about offering an educational program for divorcing families. Some things to consider are how often to offer the course, location, qualifications of instructors, educational materials, security and safety of participants, childcare, fees, reporting to the courts and publicity and promotion. |

Resources |
Parents will want to know where and how to find additional help as they continue the process of learning to parent through and after divorce. The curriculum provides an outline for a Resource Directory that you can use to create one for your area. |
Video |
The 21 minute video provides segments that enhance the effectiveness of two of the Parents Forever topics: Impact of Divorce on Adults and Impact of Divorce on Children. The video comes with a viewer’s guide to help integrate the concepts into the course. Topics in the video include:
